siuuuuu. Ronaldo always bangs in the goals, no matter where he plays. Could have been more than 35 goals though.
99: Miguel Gutierrez brilliant goal against Barcelona

This year, Girona has been an insane underdog team in La Liga, and they clinched some incredible victories against Atletico and Barca. THIS goal by Miguel was insane. The left back slaloms into the penalty area, past a bamboozled Kounde, and lashes the ball into the left corner to give Girona the lead 2-1. But this is not the only Girona goal that will be featured...
98: Granit Xhaka goal in DFB Pokal final
Another team that impressed this year was Leverkusen. They won the league and cup double. The cup win was thanks to Granit Xhaka's wonder goal against Kaiserslautern. Xhaka saw the ball roll towards him and slammed it straight into the top left corner. World-class goal. And the celebration makes it even better.
97: Freiburg 3-2 Lens
Now THIS was a game. Two of the best underdog teams from the 2022/23 season meet at the Europa League knockout stage, and they delivered a 120-minute absolute thriller. Lens took an early lead with David Pereira da Costa and Elye Wahi scoring in the first half, but Freiburg rallied back through a Roland Sallai brace. Michael Gregoritsch missed a chance to win it all in regular time, but he scored the winner in extra time after faking out two defenders and slotting the ball into the net in a satisfying fashion. European knockout matches were something else this season.
96: Joao Felix's revenge against Atletico Madrid

There is a type of player that crumbles under a huge price tag in the transfer market. Joao Felix is one of them. After a huge $100m transfer to Atletico Madrid from Benfica, Felix failed to show his best talents, scoring only 34 goals in 131 appearances. He went on loan to Chelsea and scored 4 goals in 20 games, before going again on loan to Barcelona this season. He scored only 7 league goals, but two of them were against Atletico Madrid. The first one was an absolute mind-bender; a subtle touch took the ball away from Nahuel Molina, and he delicately chipped the ball over goalkeeper Jan Oblak. Then, he stood on the ad board and did the Bellingham celebration against his former club. As Jose Mourinho had said, this was football heritage.
95: Mykhailo Mudryk's goal against Arsenal

-and Mudryk was another one of those players. This goal has the same vibe as the Joao Felix goal, the difference was that Mudryk never played for Arsenal, despite being heavily linked with them. Against Arsenal, Mudryk chipped the ball over David Raya from the LEFT FLANK, with the OUTSIDE OF HIS BOOT. What a satisfying goal. This goal made Arsenal regret not signing Mudryk --- for one minute.
94: Roma 2-1 Lecce (LAKAKA's finest game)

Roma 2-1 Lecce was a game where Romelu Lukaku became 'lakaka' and 'Big Rom' in the same game, and a trademark LAKAKA performance. In the 5th minute, Roma won a penalty kick, and LAKAKA was the one who took it, of course. Unfortunately, his shot was saved by Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone. LAKAKA and Roma struggled to find the back of the net. Lecce took the lead when winger Pontus Almqvist finished off a counter attack with a shot to the bottom corner. Roma rallied, and in the 90+1 minute substitute Sardar Azmoun scored a header into the top corner. It looked to be a draw, but one man disagreed: LAKAKA. After Paulo Dybala played a low ball into the box, LAKAKA turned his defender and shot... GOAL, 2-1, Roma have completed the comeback! Right into the top corner! LAKAKA took off his shirt to celebrate- and got a yellow card. This was the LAKAKA game, the LAKAKA show.
93: Ivan Martin goal against Atletico Madrid
We saw Miguel's goal against Barca earlier, but Girona midfielder Ivan Martin's goal against Atleti was even better. The game was tied 3-3 after Valery, Savio, and Blind scored for Girona, and Morata scored a hat trick for Atletico. Ivan Martin received the ball, dribbled past two defenders, and held off another two while placing the ball exquisitely into the top corner for a last minute winner. Something was in the air for Girona at that time.
92: Marseille 2-1 Panathinaikos (3-5 pen)
This match was a thrilling second leg of a Champions League qualification tie, with French giants Marseille facing Greek giants Panathinaikos. It was a horrible performance from French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi. When Marseille was 2-0 after a double from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Guendouzi made a handball which led to a penalty for Panathinaikos, which was converted by Fotis Ioannidis. After a scoreless extra time period, Guendouzi was the only player to miss in the penalty shootout, ensuring that Panathinaikos progressed to the next round. After this match, Guendouzi was sent to Lazio on loan, which justified his performance in the game. More memes for him, please.
91: Lyon 4-3 Brest

This game was one of the best games in the top five leagues this season. Lyon took the lead from a brilliant volley by Corentin Tolisso, formerly of Bayern. Brest then rallied three goals, first from striker Steve Mounie heading in a magnificent set-piece from Romain Del Castillo. Del Castillo then scored a brace, first from a free kick, then from a counter attack, for 1-3. Lyon would not be denied, though. A volley from Alexandre Lacazette made it 2-3, before Nicolas Tagliafico lashed the ball into the bottom corner for 3-3. It's not over yet. Nicolas Tagliafico tried to pick up Brest's Pierre Lees-Melou, but he got up and pushed Tagliafico, which led to Lees-Melou being sent off. Then, Brest captain Chardonnet kicked Lacazette, which led to a 90+16 (!) Lyon penalty. The taker was--- wait for it--- Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Yep. And he buried it. 4-3 Lyon. Football is a crazy sport, eh?
The series will continue from June 3rd to June 12th, and each article will contain 10 moments. Stay tuned for more of the greatest (and worst) moments of the 2023/24 world football season!
