Welcome to part eight of siuuuuu 100. We are heading towards the end of the ranking, so it means that only the best moments are on display from now on. We have some cup wins, promotions, thrilling matches, and THREE hilarious and similar goalkeeper mistakes. Let's get underway!
30: Jaden Philogene-Bidace goal vs Rotherham
The EFL Championship can give us some unforgettable goals sometimes, like someone turning into prime Messi or someone going full James Rodriguez with a volley. This goal by Hull winger and Aston Villa loanee Jaden Philogene-Bidace would surely be a Ballon D'Or contender. Jaden fakes past a defender and rabonas the ball from the wing into the top corner after a deflection. Yes, a rabona. Aston Villa have got another gem on their hands.
29: Thiago Motta's Bologna
Thiago Motta is one of the modern football era's greatest defensive midfielders. He played for the likes of Barcelona, Inter, and PSG. Motta brought his knowledge and understanding of the game to Bologna as a coach. He used an unusual 2-7-2 formation, with the goalkeeper playing as a CDM when the team is attacking. This seemingly bizarre tactic turned out to work well, as Motta coached the team to a fifth-place finish and Champions League qualification. His key players were winger Riccardo Orsolini, Scottish midfielder Lewis Ferguson, in-form and unexpectedly handsome defender Riccardo Calafiori, and key striker Joshua Zirkzee, who banged in 11 goals. This year, a surprise team from each of the top 5 leagues in Europe made it into the Champions League: Aston Villa, Girona, Bologna, Stuttgart, and Brest. They are teams that can potentially pull off some giant killings and make it far in the competition, watch out!
28: Chelsea 4-3 Man United
The battle of the mid-table teams. Chelsea and United are 'big six' members that have fallen off this season. They played an extraordinarily entertaining match this season. Chelsea took a 2-0 lead in the opening minutes through a goal by Conor Gallagher and a penalty by Cole Palmer. However, United made a brilliant comeback. Two goals by Alejandro Garnacho and a header by Bruno Fernandes turned the game on its head. However, Chelsea got a penalty at the very end of the game after a brilliant dribble by Noni Madueke. Palmer duly converted to make it 3-3. He was not done. When Chelsea got one last corner, Gallager played a low ball to Cole Palmer, whose shot took a deflection and took it past Onana for 4-3. This game proved that United were the real bottlers.
27: Goalkeeper mistakes by Muric, Henderson, and Pears

And here is the link to the last one. https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1c9heim/blackburn_goalkeeper_aynsley_pears_own_goal/
Three similar, almost identical mistakes. The last one is the funniest. Enjoy. Well, you enjoy. It would be terrifying if I was the goalkeeper in these situations.
26: Real Madrid 5-3 Atletico Madrid
This match in the Supercopa Espana was a classic Madrid derby. Eight goals, one yellow card (surprisingly), and 33 shots combined. Atletico took the lead when Mario Hermoso scored a header, before Real Madrid's Antonio Rudiger equalized with a similar finish. Ferland Mendy gave Real the lead with a nice bottom corner finish, before Atleti's Griezmann scored a brilliant goal after beating two defenders and drilling the ball into the bottom corner. In the second half, Kepa made a mistake when he tried to claim a cross, which led to an own goal by Antonio Rudiger. However, Real Madrid would not be denied, after a scramble inside the area, Carvajal hammered the ball into the roof of the net for 3-3.
In extra time, Joselu finished off a great cross by Carvajal with the help of a deflection, before Brahim finished into an empty net for 5-3. What a game. What a derby.
25: Liverpool wins the Carabao Cup final

Jurgen Klopp is a special manager. He has completely revolutionalized Liverpool and brought them back to the very top. The Carabao Cup he won in his final season was his final trophy, and perhaps his hardest. Liverpool were without Mo Salah, Alisson, Trent, Szoboszlai, and Darwin Nunez. They had nearly an entire bench full of youth players. The game was very similar to the 2022 final with many good saves and one goal disallowed for either side. Liverpool got the only goal of the match in the 118th minute from a header by captain Virgil van Dijk. And Tsimikas took the corner. That's how barren the squad was for Liverpool. The XI that finished the game for Liverpool: Kelleher, Tsimikas, van Dijk, Quansah, Gomez, Endo, Clark, McConnell, Luis Diaz, Danns, Elliott. Jurgen Klopp is a truly special coach.
24: Man United wins the FA Cup

This year, the FA Cup went to Erik Ten Hag's Manchester United. Which was both deserved and very undeserved. United cruised through Wigan, Newport, and Forest before they faced Liverpool in the quarter finals. In a thriller, United beat Liverpool 4-3 in extra time. Then, the semi finals against Coventry. United took a commanding lead through McTominay, Maguire, and Bruno Fernandes, before the impossible happened. Coventry came back, with goals from Simms, O'Hare, and Wright. United then got lucky when Coventry midfielder Victor Torp slotted the ball in for 4-3, but unfortunately, the goal was ruled out. United won it via penalties to set up a final with Man City. In the final, City's defense crumbled, leading to goals for Garnacho and Mainoo. City's Doku would eventually pull one back, but it was too late. United had somehow won the FA Cup in their worst Premier League season. Erik Ten Hag has done it again.
23: Ipswich Town promoted to Premier League

Ed Sheeran's favorite team, the Tractor Boys, just got double promoted to the Premier League. With one of the lesser-valued squads, Ipswich coach Kieran McKenna led the Tractor Boys to a second place finish. Their key players are Wes Burns, who scored a trivela goal, attacking midfielder Conor Chaplin, Omari Hutchinson, Jeremy Sarmiento, and captain Sam Morsy. If McKenna stays put, Ipswich might tear the Premier League up.
22: PSG Reverse Remontada
We all know that famous Remontada pulled off by Barcelona in the 2016/17 season. After a 4-0 loss, Barca miraculously won the second leg 6-1. But this season, PSG did their revenge. After losing the first leg 2-3, PSG's Champions League hopes were hanging by a thread when Raphinha gave Barca the lead. However, a red card by Ronald Araujo just turned the game around. First-leg scorers Dembele and Vitinha scored again, then Kylian Mbappe scored a penalty to complete the comeback. Mbappe would score another just in case Barca wanted to reverse-reverse remontada. The final aggregate score was 4-6. PSG would still go on to lose against Dortmund in the semi finals, which was classic PSG.
21: Stefan Ortega title winning save vs H.m.son
Manchester City play Tottenham 3 days before the final day of the Premier League, knowing that they must secure all three points. Haaland scored for Man City to give them the lead, but then Akanji made a mistake which sent Son through on goal. The goalkeeper, Stefan Ortega, subbed on for Ederson earlier, went full Emi Martinez and kept the shot out with his leg. Pep Guardiola's reaction became an instant meme. He said that if Ortega didn't make the save, Arsenal would be Premier League champions. Haaland scored a penalty and put the game to bed, but Ortega's save remained crucial for City's title pursuit.
The series will continue from June 3rd to June 12th, and each article will contain 10 moments. Stay tuned for more of the greatest (and worst) moments of the 2023/24 world football season!
